Echinocereus dasyacanthus. (Syn: Echinocereus pectinatus dasyacanthus). Sunset 9b-11; USDA: 8b-10. Hardy to 12° F.  Full sun to light shade. Little water, needs porous soil.  Cylindrical cactus, branching from the base, very spiny stems grow to 18" tall. Yellow to pink flowers. Origin: Texas, New Mexico, northern Mexico.
