Adonis aestivalis (Pheasant’s Eye). USDA Zones: 3 - 10. Subalpine annual, striking bright vermilion red flowers with black centers and a single row of petals. A member of the buttercup family, fine, ferny foliage, with the brilliantly colored blossoms. Needs good drainage and full sun. Grows about 12-18" high.
