Echinocactus species mix. A mix of the following: Echinocactus electracanthus, grandis, grusonii, platyacanthus, ingens, palmeri, platyacanthus.
Echinocactus texensis (Horse Crippler). Syn. Homalocephala texensis. Sunset: 10-13; USDA: 5-11. Hardy to 0° F. Full sun to light shade in hot gardens. Light summer water, dry winter. Provide good drainage. Solitary when young, slowly clustering, 12" in diameter, 8" high. Pink flowers. Origin: Texas, southeastern New Mexico, northeastern Mexico.
Echinocereus acifer. USDA 9b-11. Hardy to 0° F. Full sun. Light summer water, dry winter. Usually clumping, often forming large clumps occasionally of several hundreds stems, each stem up to 12" tall, 3" in diameter . Red or orange flowers with light colored center. Origin: Arizona, New Mexico, northwestern Mexico.

Echinocereus adustus. Sunset 9b-11; USDA: 8-11. Hardy to 10° F. Full sun to light shade in hot gardens. Little water, needs porous soil. Solitary, cylindrical, 2 to 8" tall 2 to 5" in diameter. Dark pink to purple flowers. Origin: Chihuahua Mexico. Quantities over 100 ships in 2-3 weeks.
